The BBK represents the interests of visual artists in the Netherlands. We provide accessible information, promote mutual contacts, and act as a whistleblower in case of abuses.
We do this by exercising political influence, collaborating with like-minded organizations, and acting as a discussion partner. We offer education via webinars and meetings, provide information and news updates, and give advice on professional practice questions of members.
Na aanmelding krijg je een e-mailing met uitleg over de IAA kaart en een kortingscode voor een gratis kaart.
The BBK is affiliated with Kunsten '92, the Creative Coalition, BKNL, the Ketentafel Beeldende Kunst, Federatie Beeldrechten, Stichting Continuïteit Beeldrecht, and IAA Europe/AIAP/IAA Worldwide are organizations and platforms with which we work closely to stay informed of current developments in the sector. We actively support the initiatives set up by these organizations. In addition, the BBK works closely with fellow organizations within the field. Our activities focus on tackling subjects that are neglected by other organizations, such as the legacies of visual artists. On our website we have created dossiers for a number of important subjects. Here you can always follow the latest developments.
Members are informed monthly about the developments within the BBK and the field via our newsletter. This contains links to relevant articles with background information, in-depth analyses, research and policy documents. On the platform 'My BBK' members have access to an extensive source of information, including downloads and courses on various subjects that are relevant to professional practice. 'My BBK' is continuously updated and expanded. If members cannot find specific information, our helpdesk is ready to help them further.
The BBK regularly organizes meetings on various topics. In 2024, a number of meetings on the legacies of visual artists were started. These meetings are organized with various partners. Admission for members is always free. Often, after a meeting, there is also the opportunity to meet fellow artists.
