We warmly invite you to a new IAA Europe Talk on 17 April 2025 at 3.00 pm CET, week of World Art Day.
The event is part of the IGBK project "Opening Space | Promoting Encounters".
With: (Graz/ Austria), Free Home University (Lecce/ Italy) and Park Fiction (Hamburg/ Germany)
Register here for participation (until 16 April 2025)In times of increasing social polarization, local artistic initiatives are gaining importance. These projects often take a multidisciplinary approach, involving local communities, diverse fields of knowledge, and public spaces. In this way, they create opportunities for encounter and promote dialog between different groups. At the same time, they are often under pressure from observers and have to stand up to criticism.
What is the scope for interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and socially engaged art practices? What approaches and models are there? How do artists and participants gain practical strategies for action and methods for civil society resilience through collaboration?
With inputs a.o. by:
Introduction and moderation: IGBK project leads.
Outlook and farewell: Teemu Mäki (President of IAA Europe, Artists' Association of Finland).
The event aims to facilitate direct exchange, foster knowledge transfer, and strengthen European networking. The event will be held in English.
The project-leaders for "Opening Space | Promoting Encounters" are Christine Düwel and Doris Weinberger (both members of the IGBK board).
The IAA Europe Talk is presented by Internationale Gesellschaft der Bildenden Künste (IGBK) and IAA Europe.
